Why this newspaper exists — and how to read it

I originally just wanted a morning newspaper about Physical AI. I made one for myself, then decided to share it with the world.

A morning newspaper for myself

I wanted a morning newspaper about physical artificial intelligence: robots that see, learn, move and act in our world. A complete issue to read at breakfast, at my own pace.

So I made that newspaper for myself. Then I decided to share it with the world. Perhaps someone else would like to start their day this way, too.

That original idea explains the dated issues, the different reader editions, the glossary, the source links and the separate version for paper. The newspaper format has been part of the project from the beginning.

One subject, four editions

An engineer, a business professional and a curious young reader ask different questions. Each edition adjusts its focus and explanations; its selection of stories may also differ.

Engineer

How the technology works, what the experiments measured, its limitations and what reproducing the results would require.

Business Professional

Possible applications, deployment questions, and the costs and risks that remain uncertain.

Enthusiast

What researchers have created, how it works and why it is interesting, without requiring an engineering background.

Kids

For readers around 11–12: clear explanations, examples and questions that help make sense of a complex subject.

How to use the website

  1. Choose an edition using the buttons at the top, then choose Russian, English or Japanese. Switching one keeps your choice of the other.
  2. The homepage shows the latest issue and article openings. Use a story’s reading link to open its full text. Changing edition keeps the same article when available; otherwise it opens that issue or the selected edition’s homepage.
  3. Bracketed numbers beside terms jump to explanations below the article. Back to text returns to the mention. The complete glossary is at the bottom of the issue.
  4. Use the archive to open an earlier issue. RSS lets you follow new stories in a feed reader. Coming soon means that edition does not yet have a ready issue.

Why offer a PDF at all?

I wanted the newspaper to travel beyond the browser. The PDF preserves its page composition and two columns, making it easy to read separately, keep, share or print.

Download the PDF for your edition and language beside the issue header or from the archive. Each version has its own file. The number of pages depends on the amount of text.

For home printing, choose A4 paper and 100% scale (Actual size). You can enable double-sided printing if your printer supports it.

From the inbox to the home printer

I imagine taking the idea further: a morning issue arrives by email, and a paper newspaper is waiting on the home printer as the day begins.

  1. A mailing list delivers an email with the PDF for your chosen edition and language.
  2. If the printer or a connected service supports printing PDF email attachments, the email can be sent to its address. Alternatively, open the attachment and print it manually.
  3. Compatibility, printing time and permitted senders depend on the particular printer’s setup. Email printing is not available on every model.

This is a possible next step. Email delivery and automatic printing are not connected yet. For now, you can download a PDF from the website and print it yourself.

Why a replicant?

This project is a personal tribute to Roy Batty from Blade Runner and the question of what makes us human. The newspaper is created almost entirely with AI assistance, including material preparation, translation, code and design. Primary sources remain linked beside the articles so readers can check the claims and understand the limits of the results.
